INDIA, December 21, 2008: Ardra Darshana, also known as Ardra festival, will occur on January 10 in 2009. Observed on the full moon day in the Tamil month of Margazhi (Margali Masam), this auspicious day is honored by Tamils worldwide in celebration of the cosmic dance of Lord Shiva as Nataraja. This auspicious star alignment happens when the full moon is in the constellation of Ardra.
Temples al over India are preparing for this festival. It is especially celebrated in the Chidambaram Koyil, where it is the greatest festival of the year.
