Lord Murugan is the deity of the Tamil Land. Palani (Tiru Avinankudi) is the third Padai Veedu (six abodes of Lord Muruga). The temple at Palani is an ancient one, situated at an elevation of 1500 feet above sea level. The deity of Palani is known as Dandayudhapani Swami, the Lord having the Staff in his Hand. The deity at the sanctum sanctorum is made out of an amalgam of nine poisons popularly called Navapashanam. - from India Divine


There is a song by SeerKali Govindarajan on London Muruga Temple in English starting ' Lord Muruga, London Muruga,...........'

Amalgam of Nine Poisons was prepared by Great Siddha 'Bhogar'  on his return from China. He was the Guru of  Kriya Babaji, Boghar initiated Kriya Baba at Kataragama, which is also a famous abode of Lord Skanda (Muruga). This abode is in Sri Lanka. Annual festival is now going on.
