The greatest problem in the world today

The greatest problem in the world today is our belief in a concept of humanity which allows us to avoid the reality of our individuality. We have been cheated with the idea that we are tied to a destiny, but consciousness is freedom and to awake our consciousness is to find the solution; to be reborn as a human being, an individual. Wherein this talk Osho addresses with mastery, the question of man's freedom as man's highest value

Work out your own salvation. Do not depend on others. ~ Buddha
There’s only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self. ~ Aldous Huxley
To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in order;
to put the nation in order, we must first put the family in order; to
put the family in order, we must first cultivate our personal life; we
must first set our hearts right. ~ Confucius
Agreed! It seems that the setup of the universe was not intended for, or at least did not anticipate, large societal structure. If there was an intention in the creation of this place and this game it was one on one communication. This can be substantiated by the fact that each of us may put our direct attention on only one thing at a time. You can try this experiment. Put your attention on anyone thing. Then put it on another and keep your attention on the first thing. Impossible. This fact has not changed since we first stepped into this place. One understands one item, one concept, one truth at a time. And we do it on our own.
Lot of thanks.
Thank you for posting!
Reading the back cover of Pema Chodron, she states:
- “Always apply only a joyful state of mind”
-“Don’t seek others’ pain as the limbs of your own happiness”
-“Always meditate on what ever provokes resentment”
-“Be grateful to everyone”
“Working with these slogans and through the practice of meditation, we can all develop the courage to work with our inner pain and discover joy, well-being, and confidence”.
Thank you, Sanmugan for posting this blog.
Namaste
beautiful blog! I AM getting blessed moment after moment these days with all the writings on gaia. grateful to ALL indeed!!!1
Wow, my brain is full, but so is my heart. This online community has really opened me up to so many thoughts and situations. But I am still rooted in yogic philosophy that thoughts can only take one so far and that we must go BEYOND thought to dissolve back into Bliss (laya yoga). Some of my most important decisions come to me when I am NOT thinking, but when I am listening, in meditation or in stillness. So, while I am grateful for the ability to think, to discuss, to philosophize, I am also grateful to let it all go, to say swaha, to “not be the doer”. Thank you all.
Act, but do not be attached to the fruits of those actions - Bhagavad Gita.
It seems all inner flames are getting together in Gaia. Thanks a lot.
thanks sanmugan for this post. I have enjoyed reading all the comments too.
I most closely identified with what Tasha said,
“Some of my most important decisions come to me when I am NOT thinking,
but when I am listening, in meditation or in stillness. So, while I am
grateful forthe ability to think, to discuss, to philosophize, I am
also grateful to let it all go,…
We can read the manual, discuss it with others, but eventual we have to get behind the wheel and drive.
What exactly did Osho say about man’s freedom - man’s highest value? I only own one Osho book - “Osho on Zen”
Individual freedom of course. Each individual has to attain it on their own. Highest value is to find the inner silence. There is nothing ore than that.
I am now reading the book, titled: Zen and the art of enlightenment. It is based on the Doka of Zen master Ikkyu, as collection of discourses 1 to 7 from ’ Take it easy vol:1’.
