What are your spiritual goals?
Protect you from the greatest fear
Even a little effort toward spiritual awareness will protect you from the greatest fear.
Those who follow this path, resolving deep within themselves to seek Me alone, attain singleness of purpose. For those who lack resolution, the decisions of life are many-branched and endless.
-Bhagavad Gita 2:40-41
Do you try to love unconditionally?
They are the root and branches of the world
When you live without discrimination,
Desire arises.
When desire persists,
Feelings of preference arise,
Of liking and disliking.
They are the root and branches of the world.
-Ashtavakra Gita 16:7
If the angel deigns to come
If the angel deigns to come
it will be because you have convinced
her, not by tears but by your humble
resolve to be always beginning;
to be a beginner.
Rainer Maria Rilke
I am Consciousness and Bliss
I am not detachment nor salvation,
Nor anything reached by the senses;
I am behold all thought and form.
I am everywhere, and nowhere at all-
I am Consciousness and Bliss.
I am Shiva! I am Shiva!
-Shankaracharya
May the light of wisdom illumine us
May the light of wisdom illumine us.
May we become united with the Lord.
Let us contemplate five categories:
The world and luminous worlds in the sky,
Education, progeny, and speech.
-Taittiriya Upanishad
Free from desire
Free from desire,
He neither praises the peaceful
Nor blames the wicked.
The same in joy and sorrow,
He is always happy.
He sees there is nothing to do.
-Ashtavakra Gita 18:82
Have you been thinking more of the past or the future?
define their unique specialness
Birth decrees to all men who live a common circumstance.
Diverse actions define their unique specialness.
Lowly men are never high, even when elevated.
High souls are never low, even when downtrodden.
-Tirukkural 98: 972-73
What music has made the biggest difference in your life?
You are originally unlimited and perfect.
Mind is consciousness which has put on limitations. You are originally unlimited and perfect. Later you take on limitations and become the mind.

President Obama's Message on the Occasion of India Republic Day
Source: THE WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON, DC, USA, January 25, 2009: The people of India and people of Indian origin in America and around the world celebrate Republic Day on January 26, I send the warmest greetings of the American people to the people of India. Together, we celebrate our shared belief in democracy, liberty, pluralism, and religious tolerance.
Our nations have built broad and vibrant partnerships in every field of human endeavor. Our rapidly growing and deepening friendship with India offers benefits to all the world's citizens as our scientists solve environmental challenges together, our doctors discover new medicines, our engineers advance our societies, our entrepreneurs generate prosperity, our educators lay the foundation for our future generations, and our governments work together to advance peace, prosperity, and stability around the globe.
It is our shared values that form the bedrock of a robust relationship across peoples and governments. Those values and ideals provide the strength that enables us to meet any challenge, particularly from those who use violence to try to undermine our free and open societies. As the Indian people celebrate Republic Day all across India, they should know that they have no better friend and partner than the people of the United States. It is in that spirit, that I also wish Prime Minister Singh a quick recovery.

A yogin shall always be on his guard
Amritabindu Upanishad 27. upb, p. 696
who attain the goal of meditation
It is not those who lack energy or refrain from action, but those who work without expectation of reward who attain the goal of meditation. Theirs is true renunciation. Therefore, Arjuna, you should understand that renunciation and the performance of selfless service are the same. Those who cannot renounce attachment to the results of their work are far from the path.
-Bhagavad Gita 6:1-2
What would you like to come back as?
greater than all the worlds
Smaller than a grain of rice, smaller than a grain of barley, smaller than a mustard seed, smaller than a grain of millet, smaller even than the kernel of a grain of millet is the Self. This is the Self dwelling in my heart, greater than the earth, greater than the sky, greater than all the worlds.
-Chandogya Upanishad
Closed Path
I thought that my voyage had come to its end
at the last limit of my power,
that the path before me was closed,
that provisions were exhausted
and the time come to take shelter in a silent obscurity.
But I find that thy will knows no end in me.
And when old words die out on the tongue,
new melodies break forth from the heart;
and where the old tracks are lost,
new country is revealed with its wonders.

First Flight Of Algae-Fuelled Jet
Source: news.bbc.co.uk
UNITED KINGDOM, January 2009: A US airline has completed the first test flight of a plane partly powered by biofuel derived from algae and jatropha, a plant that can grow successfully in poor soils and marginal land. The 90-minute flight by a Continental Boeing 737-800 went better than expected, a spokesperson said. One of its engines was powered by a 50-50 blend of biofuel and normal aircraft fuel.
Wednesday's test is the latest in a series of demonstration flights by the aviation industry, which hopes to be using biofuels within five years.
The flight was the first by a US carrier to use an alternative fuel source, and the first in the world to use a twin-engine commercial aircraft (rather than a four-engine plane) to test a biofuel blend.
The flight from Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport completed a circuit over the Gulf of Mexico. "The airplane performed perfectly," test pilot Rich Jankowski told the Houston Chronicle newspaper.

Maitra Upanishad 6.30. uph, 443
What do you most need to learn?
You are that
When a man is dying, his family
All gather round and ask, 'Do you know me?
Do you know me?' And so long as his speech
Has not merged in mind, his mind in prana,
Prana in fire, and fire in pure Being,
He knows them all. But there is no more knowing.
When speech merges in mind, mind in prana,
Prana in fire, and fire in pure Being.
There is nothing that does not come from him.
Of everything he is the inmost Self.
He is the truth; he is the Self supreme.
You are that, Shvetaketu; you are that."
-Chandogya Upanishad
the evil within us diminishes from day to day
Our peace of mind increases in spite of suffering; we become braver and more enterprising; we understand more clearly the difference between what is everlasting and what is not; we learn how to distinguish between what is our duty and what is not. Our pride melts away and we become humble. Our worldly attachments diminish and, likewise, the evil within us diminishes from day to day.
-Mahatma Gandhi
